Ideas for a Superhero Party!
January is a funny old month isn’t it? It doesn’t know whether to rain or snow, be windy or cold. I suspect January doesn’t mean to make people feel miserable but what with the dark nights and cold mornings and with Christmas feeling so very far away, inevitably we’re all a little bit down in January……………. So, when Baking Mad asked us if we’d like to throw a Superhero party…..just for the hell of it- how could I refuse?! What a great excuse to cheer everyone up in January! We set about looking for some Superhero Party Ideas!
Superhero Party Ideas
We opted for the Superhero party theme because we thought everyone probably needed a wee boost in remembering how wonderful they are and how we’re all superheroes in our own special way! But there are all sorts of cake themes on the Baking Mad website. From Princess to pirate, Unicorn and Peter Rabbit – there are some fab party themes to make everything super easy. You can buy your party cake ingredients and decorations all in one place from Baking Mad, so it’s perfect for those that have little time to spend planning a party.
Superhero Party Decoration Ideas
The Superhero party decorations are from Meri Meri, I always love their party decor and designs! You can buy this Brilliant Superhero Decor set for parties here.
Finlay dressed up as Batman for the party! We had a lot of fun at our January Superhero party, starting off with some simple Superhero crafts and colouring and a fab game of Superhero snap! The kids loved these brightly coloured snap cards and all had a game each until we moved on to play a few very easy Superhero games……
Superhero Party Games Inspiration
First up was Superhero Musical Statues (you pull a Superhero pose rather than simply standing still!) Then Hot Kryptonite (just like Hot Potato except you wrap the potato in tin foil and tell the kids it’s kryptonite. When the music stops, the one holding the ‘kryptonite’ is out.)
Then we played Superhero bingo, there are lots of different free printable versions on the internet of these but the one we chose can be found here from Fireflies and Mudpies.
Lastly, we ended with pizza and cake. I made the cake from the Superhero Baking Mad Kit, it was very easy to do and tasted lovely. I love making my kiddos birthday cakes but I usually sacrifice the taste and focus on the decoration but this cake tasted yummy, although I think I needed a bit more jam/ buttercream between the layers to stop it tasting so dry.) Or this is great idea for a superhero cake. Orla helped me make the cupcakes – she’s getting quite a pro at using the mixer! I also love these cute Superhero Cake Decorations too!
I love the Superhero theme- there are so many fun party things you can do. I think I might convince Archie to have a superhero Party when he’s older so we can get the beautiful decorations out again! If you’re looking to hold your very own Superhero Party – check out these lovely ideas from across the world wide web…….
