An Adventure day at Barracudas Activity Camp!
I always look forward to the summer holidays, as a teacher – I feel so lucky to have the holidays with the kiddos and love planning all the fun things we will do. But it’s exhausting isn’t it!? Trying to keep 4 little people busy and 2 that are not so little makes for a long day sometimes. But August was a lot of fun – trips to friends, playing on parched lawns, a mixture of frantic days and staying-at-home and doing nothing days, back to school shopping lists, gardens littered with toys…………………
So when Barracudas Activity Camp asked Elodie and Finlay if they’d like a day full of adventure – it was a dream come true! A day that I could spend with just the little ones and the bigger two could spend time with kids their own age doing things that big kids like to do! It arrived at that perfect time in the summer holidays where everyone was getting a little fractious and a little bored………. Elodie and Finlay had been to an activity day in the Easter Holidays and just loved it! They spent the week before their day at camp – reminiscing about their time there, planning activities they wanted to try and counting down the days whilst jumping up and down in excitement!
Barracudas Activities
Last time, Elodie had wanted to swim at Barracudas but it hadn’t been her age groups turn that day – all the way to the camp – she was saying……… “I really hope it’s swimming day, please let it be her swimming day…….” she was chuffed to bits when it indeed was her swimming day! The variety of activities on hand at Barracudas is real plus point and swimming is their absolute favourite.
What’s also lovely about Barracudas is that our the staff are so friendly and even if they are just their for a day they ensure that the children mix well together – Elodie and Finlay always come back listing all the friends they’ve made.
Aside of the swimming, they both loved go-karting, a making session with recycled materials, field games and Archery. They were so exhausted by the end of the day that it was a job keeping them awake in the car! It was a real testament to Barracudas that the next day they woke up early and set up creating their own Barrcudas Activity Camp – they assigned their younger brother and sister into a group, took a register and set up activities for them in the garden!
