I love finding some simple Christmas Crafts for our kids to make during the holiday season and these craft stick Christmas ornaments perfectly fit the bill for an easy Christmas craft that kids can make. There’s truly nothing more magical than experiencing Christmas as a child. They are an easy toddler Christmas Craft but older kids will also enjoy creating their own Lolly Stick Animals or Lolly Stick Snowflakes. In some countries lolly sticks are also called craft sticks or popsicle sticks in America – so I’ll refer to these as well. We’ve also made these lolly stick Christmas crafts with kids at the school Christmas fair – it works really well as it’s simple, quick and easy for them to make themselves. These popsicle stick crafts would also be a great kids Christmas craft to make at school or nursery as a gift for parents! With lots of kids to craft with – these would be simple for kids to have a go at with minimal supervision.

How to make Lolly Stick Christmas Decorations
Do you have a craft box full of things that you never know how to use? It’s lolly sticks and mini pom-poms here. They seem to turn up in every craft box going but we never seem to use them – for one, those mini pom-poms never stick to anything and secondly, the dye from the lolly sticks runs on our hands whenever we try to use them. Lolly sticks and pom-poms, they are like the unwanted toys in the toy box…….until now……. However, you can buy your popsicle sticks in plain wood or coloured lolly sticks here!
We discovered glue dots! These are the best thing when it comes to crafting with little ones. Absolutely mess free, tiny hands can use them successfully and they stick lolly sticks and mini pom-poms to anything! Oh and they are £1.00 for 400 dots in Poundland or you can buy them here. We were hooked! So, we made some Lolly Popsicle Stick Christmas Decorations! You can also use a hot glue gun to stick mini pom poms but obviously this is best for older children to use.
You may be thinking I have lost the plot, am I really writing a post on glue dots and lolly sticks? But I’m always on the lookout for anything that means my children can still do making but I don’t have as much tidying up to do! With our discovery of glue dots, we went on to make lolly stick Christmas crafts and stuck them on handmade Christmas cards but they could also be Christmas decorations for the tree or even stand alone decorations. The glue dots hold the lolly sticks in place as well as holding firm those pesky mini pom poms!
