Hot Chocolate Dates were in order for us this weekend. Hasn’t it been freezing? I’ve written before about our Hot Chocolate Dates with our kiddos. These are just little dates with the kids – one on one with me or Mr M, where they choose what they do and we spend a couple of hours focusing on ‘just them’. I’m a bit sad to say we haven’t kept these up as much as we’d like but this weekend, I promised a ‘date’ with Elodie, where I picked her up after her dancing lessons and we went for Hot Chocolate and a little ramble around some cute gifty kind of shops. We had a scrummy hot chocolate with marshmallows and cream and Elodie tucked into a very Cinammony Apple Pie – she was in her element! We chatted about school and friends, we didn’t do much, we looked at pretty things in gift shops that we’d like to buy friends and family (if we were made of money). We just enjoyed time together and we really must do it more. How grown up is Elodie looking now? 9 and a half and every inch of her is beautiful and funny. Looking at these photos, I am very much aware that time is whizzing on by and sometimes I’d like to make it stop and slow down and other times……. I can’t wait to see how she’ll turn out!
I’m joining in with the Living Arrows project, celebrating childhood. The project originally took it’s name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” where photos are shared that capture a moment of childhood.
