Orla is desperate to be a ‘big girl’. Whereas I am desperate for her to remain little, so I can see this becoming a constant battle as she becomes older! Orla wants to go to school, she wants to got to ballet lessons like her sister and most recently, she has started to want to wear ‘school uniforms’ and ‘do homework’ like her brothers and sisters! Her favourite thing to do after we’ve done the school drop off, is to don a fancy dress outfit (which is her school uniform), put on her bright pink ‘pack-back’ and prance around the house in sunglasses drawing ‘Os for Orla’s’ on every piece of paper she can find. So, when KidloLand asked us to try out a new app for pre-schoolers, I thought this would be a smart way for her to feel more grown up.
We have a hudl that the children can have set screen time for, they can’t use our phones, but I was interested in trying out an App marketed for Pre-schoolers as she can’t always play the other Apps we have on there for our older children. KidloLand is an app with over 600 nursery rhymes, activities, games, stories and songs for preschoolers! It honestly has the biggest selection I have seen. Orla sticks to matching her shapes, puzzles, joining the dots, colour matching, the alphabet and numbers, which are her favourites along with a fruit matching monster which she loves!! I like the fact that it helps to develop hand eye co-ordination and that lots of the games are educational.
There are so many different activities on the App, I’m not sure we’ll ever get through them! The songs are slightly annoying so we’ve turned the sound off on some of them but the bright colours and tunes are perfect to keep little ones entertained and learning at the same time. I think Orla could have completed some of the app when she was two or even younger but there’s also enough to keep her going for another year or two, I particularly like the phonics games and tunes which Orla is just starting to take an interest in. Even my 5 year old enjoys playing with some of the more technical games so we’re getting our money’s worth!
KidloLand is available to download from the Apple Store for iOS, Google Play and Amazon Appstore. There is a small charge for the App costing £29.99 a year or £3.99 a month, which I originally thought was very expensive but actually, there’s so much on there -it will last the test of time and if you were heading on a long journey or needed something to keep small children entertained – this App would be perfect!
But if, like me, you like to try before you buy…..the lovely people at KidloLand have given us three free 3 month subscriptions to the KidloLand App to win! If you’d like to win one of the 3 month subscriptions – please enter below!
We were given a free subscription to try KidloLand in order to review. However, the thoughts and ideas in this blog are my own.
