You are 5 weeks old today. I cannot believe how quickly time has flown. 5 weeks ago exactly, you were not yet here. The labour room was tense, we didn’t know if you were going to have to arrive by emergency c-section but you made it here, thankfully all by yourself.
You are beautiful, you are so snuffly at the minute and you do the cutest sneezes. You have been such a special addition to our family and you just fit .
You are lying in my arms at the moment and your little hands are tickling mine. I’m trying to eat up all these cuddles because one day, you won’t fit in my arms. You look so much like Elodie and you love to be held and your head stroked as much as she did. Unlike Elodie and Finlay, you love your dummy, are very settled and rarely cry.
I can’t wait to see your smile but already we can see you will be a smily one. Your eyes have such a little happy sparkle in them!
There was a little Orla shaped hole in our family and now you’re here, we can’t believe how lucky we are. We all adore you, Elodie adores you. Just this morning, she cuddled you and said “I love Orla. I want to say more than love but I don’t know how so I’ll just say – Orla you’re brilliant.” Finlay loves cuddling you and holding you. If you do the tiniest whimper, he tries to work out what’s wrong and runs around the house saying ‘milk, milk, dummy, dummy!!’
I’m really enjoying squidging you and trying to relish every moment. I’m super thankful for you and can’t wait to see how you’ll turn out!
