Bean has developed a typically annoying two year old trait! If I say ‘let’s have lunch now’ or ‘shall we go to the park?’ Or suggest anything trivial that we are about to do, Bean will say ‘and?’ with an annoying questioning tone.
An exchange will go like this:
Me: ‘Let’s go and collect Pip from school.’
Me: ‘Then we’ll come home.’
Me: ‘You can play with your toys and I’ll make dinner.’
Me: ‘you’ll eat dinner and go in the bath’
Me: We’ll have stories and go to bed and then there will be no more ands.
I usually find it rather endearing but today I am in a grump for no good reason and am finding it irritating. I haven’t been finishing his ‘ands’, I’ve been trying to head them off by saying ‘that’s it, there’s no more ands.’ It hasn’t worked and poor Bean has resorted to filling in his own ‘ands’. They are however, much more exciting then the real plan for the day.
Me: ‘let’s go to the park.’
Me: silence, trying my best to ignore.
Bean: ‘and have some juice, and have some biscuits and go to school and go to beach and collect some shells and go to park again.’
Ah, the thoughts and dreams of a two year old.
