They were so keen to spend the night in the stick house that we literally had to ‘pretend’ to leave them and made it a fair way back to the car before they came running after us (thankfully!) Given the showers we had earlier in the day, it was surprisingly sunny and warm. A lovely little find.
We like a Sunday afternoon walk, we do. We’re lucky that there’s a fair few pretty darn good walking places near us (that we can drive too anyway….don’t get me started on our local, walkable but hideous high street!)
So, this weekend – we did a little googling and found a new public walk. In fact we found a really big walk but we only did a little smidgen this time round.
As we were about to leave the car, Pip (in that typical way that 5 year olds do) found some bubbles in the car which she insisted on taking with us. This meant the first part of our walk was met with crazy children running around chasing bubbles. So much for a chilled out stroll.
But then buttercups caught their imagination and they spent a while collecting those and squishing them into their pockets. Luckily I remembered to remove these delightful findings just before putting the clothes in the washing machine.
They were over the moon to stumble upon a real life stick house! Bean thought the little pigs were not too far away and was on tenterhooks playing in case they should wander back! Whilst Squidge had some milk, they played ‘house’ building a fire and cooking their dinner and didn’t really want to leave their little find.
